WHAT IS ONLINE COUNSELLING?
Online counselling or e-therapy uses common technology to help you get the emotional support you need when you may not be able to get to a counsellor or therapist's office. It is suitable if you wish to set up sessions at times that are the most convenient with your schedule. It is also beneficial if you have physical limitations and are unable to leave your home. E-therapy can also be very helpful if you live in remote communities where there is little access to mental health treatment.

Confidentiality is just as important in online therapy as it is in the more traditional forms of counselling relationships.

E-therapy does have some limitations. It may be difficult for me to respond quickly when a crisis happens, so it would not be suitable if you have suicidal thoughts or have suffered from a personal tragedy. Online therapy is not appropriate if you have complicated or detailed problems.

In order to attend online counselling sessions, you will need access to a fast internet connection and a webcam.
